Talk Fusion CEO Bob Reina on Culture of Philanthropy

When Bob Reina first established Talk Fusion back in 2007 we have no idea if even he realized how far and how fast his company would grow. Talk Fusion has since become one of the biggest video marketing companies on the internet and they’ve been working hard to establish connections between both customers and clients for the better part of the past decade. Talk Fusion has been fueled by the passion and energy of Bob Reina. Reina’s faith in his company is backed by his work ethic and multiplied by his willingness to lead with philanthropic endeavors.

A peak inside of the mind of Bob Reina would reveal this gold nugget of a phrase, “With great success comes greater responsibility.” This phrase is something that Bob Reina utters early and often and it is something he believes in to his core. Reina knows that he can’t let his success with Talk Fusion overshadow his real goal: to change and help the world around him. With Talk Fusion already in over 140 different countries in the world, there are many places that Reina can be helping out.

To start out with, Reina donated a record breaking million dollar check to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. This check not only broke records but it saved the lives of countless little animals that needed another shot at a full life. Reina has also given extensively to Indonesian orphanages who have struggled to get enough funding to properly take care of their charges. Reina knows that the weakest among us need help and that’s why he’s made it such a focus.

Outside of his own personal philanthropic endeavors we have seen Reina turn Talk Fusion itself into a bastion of philanthropy. This is primarily being engineered through Talk Fusion’s new account: the charity account. The Talk Fusion Charity Account comes stocked with all of the features of the Talk Fusion Custom Monthly Plan — the best plan available. The twist on this account is that it is attached to the charity of choice of the Talk Fusion associate. This gives Talk Fusion employees the chance to start building their own philanthropic base.

Handy Inc. Shows How Startups Have a Rough Road to Profits

Startups have it rough. Finding the balance between growth and profit is tricky. That is something the on-demand home cleaning startup Handy.com knows all too well. The company had a rough start. Since the company started in a time when investors were eager to find new markets, the company was able to find ample venture capitalists to help back them up.

But this still managed to pose some problems for the company. Handy was trying out some new business models, and those models caused some problems, both for them and their investors. The new service made it easy for customers or schedule a home cleaning session, and a lot of people made appointments. Far more than the company could provide for. This made growth impossible and profits unattainable. Not a good situation to be in when the company has so much riding on it.

But Handy’s two founders, Oisin Hanrahan and Umang Dua, stuck it out through the worst of it. Switching to chatbots for their call centers and laying off employees was rough, and switching to outsourced call centers was not pleasant either. Both both were necessary evils. Thanks to constant efforts, limiting growth and freely spending their hard earned money, Handy eventually took a turn for the better. While it still has not attained sustainable profits quite yet, it is well on its way towards reaching that coveted goal among startups.

As an organization, Fabletics deals with promoting a healthy lifestyle as well as designing clothes that inspire different women from different walks of life. The organization also fosters a community of people who embrace its mantra, which is “live your passion every day”.

Founded in the year 2013, Fabletics penetrated the market at a time when a good number of luxury brands had made a name for themselves. The only difference between these brands and Fabletics was the fact that these other brands were offering their products at a much higher price. Having the opportunity to showcase their talents and inspiration, Kate Hudson, Don Ressler, and Adam Goldenberg joined hands to create the Fabletics brand and organization. In a span of only two years, Fabletics has expanded from an e-commerce site to a huge reputable company with a total of six retail shops nationwide.

Fabletics success and mission attracted the interest of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) who asked Kate Hudson to join hands with them in improving the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer program (FTBCP). The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Fund (FTBCF) aids women with breast cancer by providing them with grants as well as supporting low-income earners suffering from the disease.

Securus Technologies new Application Makes Correctional Facilities more Efficient

I always find it fascinating to find out about how the newest technology impacts various industries. We all know that nearly every industry relies on communications or information technology (usually both) these days. While checking out some of the latest tech news, I found out about how technology works with the correctional facility industry. Prisons and other types of detainment facilities may not be the first thing I thought of when it came to new tech. However, companies like Securus Technologies are bringing some of the latest and greatest technological services to these types of facilities.

Take, for example, inmate requests. I wasn’t aware, but correctional officers and other facility employees often spend hours every day just dealing with the paperwork associated with these types of requests. Inmates traditionally used paper forms to request medical services, to sign up for things and to file grievances. Folks who work at these facilities often spend a good chunk of their time handling papers associated with these requests. Securus Technologies delivers an application to their clients called ConnectUS. Via this application portal, they are able to deliver their Inmate Forms and Grievance application.

The Forms and Grievance application actually takes care of the bulk of the administrative duties associated with inmate requests and grievances. Since less time is required working on paper forms, more time can be spent on crucial job tasks and ensuring the safety and security of the facilities where these people work. Inmates also get a few benefits from this application. They are able to file forms, accept them and even repeal forms/requests without having to submit extraneous amounts of paperwork.

I have to admit to being pretty impressed with this software and Securus Technologies in general. I found that this company serves over 3,450 law enforcement, corrections and public safety organizations. Securus has long been recognized as a leader in their industry, and continues to offer new products and services to their clients. Correctional facilities, like other organizations, rely on the latest technology to run efficiently. It seems that the Securus Technologies’ ConnectUS platform plays a huge role in serving these types of facilities across the country.
